Project BARBARA on Spanish TV channel "RTVE"
The problems rising from food and agricultural waste are a public concern on the national and European level, based on a rising economic and environmental impact and the pursuit of a bio-based economy.
This November 2nd, the Starch Round Table (SRT) will be held in Denver (USA). The SRT is one of the best scientific forums to discuss starch science. Prof. Francisco Vilaplana from KTH, valuable members within the BARBARA project, will present the project to the scientific, and industrial audiences, and showcase their latest results on the scale-up of the agro-waste residues.
As part of the European project Barbara, UA researchers have published a new video
Researchers at the University of Alicante, in collaboration with the European partners, have developed natural compounds of high added value for the automotive industry or construction. A new video has been published (click here to watch it). It has been widely accepted as well as the dissemination of the news in important media.
BARBARA project has been presented in the BBI JU Stakeholder Forum 2019 held in Brussels on December 4th 2019.
In order to re-think and re-consider that plastic is a valuable material that increase our quality of life, Plastipolis and Aitiip Technology Center organise the second edition of S3: Smart, Safe and Sustainable plastic congress, which was taking place at Zaragoza, during the 6th November.
University of Alicante has participated in the SusChem Stakeholders Event 2019 held in Brussels, November 27th, 2019. in this forum entitled "Sustainable Chemistry to solve global challenges: the new SusChem Strategic Research and innovation Agenda".
INRA, Irstea and IFPEN in partnership with the French three Ministries of 'Agriculture et Alimentation', 'Enseignement supérieur, Recherche et Innovation', 'Transition Ecologique et Solidaire' and in partnership with the 'German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture' organizes a European workshop on bioeconomy on 29 and 30 October 2019 in Paris. This workshop is the third one following those held in Paris in 2015 and 2017.
Marina Ramos of the University of Alicante has been invited to the roundtable "Sustainable production of bioressources: what does the research tell us?".
The consortium meeting in the Barbara project will take place this October 16-17st at the premises of Centro Ricerche Fiat (CRF, Torino, Italy), All partners will gather in this event, as to put together the results so far and plan for the future of the project.
FIAT presents BARBARA project at IFIB – International Forum on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioeconomy
Yesterday our partner form FIAT, Andrea Pipino, presented BARBARA project advances in the IFIB – International Forum on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioeconomy, which is taking place at Napoles Italy, during the 3-4th October.
Stéphane Kohnen from Celabor team, has been invited by Luxembourg Creative (which defines itself as a conference-meeting forum based in the Belgian Province of Luxembourg that aims to bring together stakeholders from the worlds of research, business and the public sector around a program guided by three key words: Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship) to give a speech about biobased plastic from vegetal waste. He will present our BARBARA project with with the most recent advances.
On 25 and 26 September, Science is Wonderful! displayed Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and other EU-funded research and innovation projects in Tour & Taxis. The event was organised with the first edition of the EU Research and Innovation Days.
